Shoreline Backing Plate Installation

Overview:
Bama Fabrication was contracted to carry out the installation of a series of Shoreline Backing Plates at the new EEAST Make Ready Hub in Ipswich. The project formed part of the electrical infrastructure to support vehicle charging facilities at the site.

Scope of Works:
The installation included a total of 29 posts positioned across the site. 24 of these were installed directly into the ground, requiring precision excavation and setting. The remaining 5 posts were securely bolted down to existing padstones through tarmac, ensuring a stable and long-lasting fixing.

Challenges:
Access and layout were tightly coordinated with other ongoing works on site, with care taken to avoid existing services. Ground conditions also varied across the site, requiring adaptability in excavation methods.

Outcome:
All 29 posts were installed to specification, with a clean and consistent finish. The works were completed on time and without disruption to other site operations. The Shoreline Backing Plates were handed over ready for final electrical connections.
